So Much for Preparation

Live tourney at the local indian casino:

I get dealt pocket queens in MP. Blinds are 25/50. Level 1. T2500 starting chips. 15 minute levels.

One limper and I raise 5x. A call from LP and limper calls as well.

Flop is J84 rainbow. Checked to me and I bet 500. LP raises to 1000. EP calls (?!?!?). I re-raise all-in.

EP and LP both call and show 87s. Both of them. 87s.

Turn. Deuce. No flush draw for either.

River. Eight. The case eight.

I'm still steaming. It was four hours ago. Ninety minutes round-trip to get some live tourney experience and all I get is four hands and something to piss me off for 24 hours, or at least four. And counting.

Rigged?

That's nuthin'.

Playing $3/$6 before the tourney, I saw the following board: 466A6

SB had 44 for the flopped boat.
LP had AA for the turned boat.
UTG+1 had 86o for the rivered winner.

Qualifying bad beat jackpot is aces full of tens, so we didn't even have that going for us.

Poker sucks.

Wow man, I don't blame you for being pissed off. I'd have gone home and kicked the dogs.

But remember, those are the idiots that you want to play. The other 42 times that hand comes up, you triple up on the fourth hand of the tourney. I say, head back over when you get back from Vegas and show 'em what's what.

Good Luck in Vegas! Mucho positive vibes heading your way.

Indian casino fodder making stoopid mistakes does not make you less of a player. Get your mind on the prize.....there's a million reasons to do well Friday - it'll make that Indian casino seem like light years ago.
